Hey guys.

So this morning i woke up and my system was on the fritz. It was still "on" but no signal to my monitors, no power to my keyboard/mouse and half the fans seemed to have stopped working.

Of course the first thing i did was trying to reset it but it didn't respond to any of the buttons on my system. Ended up cutting the power off completely. Restarted it and the same thing happened.

Motherboard rgb lit up. GPU fans started spinning and the 3 case fans at the front also started spinning.
But the case fan at the back and the 3 fans at the top from my watertank didn't spin.

Tried a couple things but in the end i just removed the GPU and replaced the CMOS battery. Figured that's the cheapest possible fix IF that was the problem. And what did you know it booted up again and worked like a dream.

That is until about 2 hours later. It stopped giving power to my keyboard and mouse (lights went off) and everything else just got stuck on the screens. Fans did keep spinning but again it didn't respond to any of the hardware buttons on my system. Cut the power and it showed the same results as it this earlier in this story.

This time i just did the CMOS reset with a screwdriver to jump the pins. And it keeps working fine for a wile but then i have to reset the CMOS again.

Now i am wondering though. Does my motherboard need replacing maybe? Haven't changed anything since dec. 2021 on this system and the original build is from 2019 even. Never had issues until now.

The system.
Left from the original 2019 build:
AsRock Steel Legend B450
Kingston HyperX Predator 3600hz (2x8GB)
MSI GTX1070 Gaming X 8G

Added in 2021
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
Corsair RM750
Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360

Build in a Cooler Master Masterbox MB520

Hopefully one of you guys/gals has a clue as to what might be happening all of sudden with this hardware of mine.

Ps. i did check just to be sure but there are no signs of and possible leaked liquid.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You could try and change the motherboard, if you're under a warranty period, then it's a simple case of RMA'ing the board, once you've contacted your seller/ASRock. You might want to breadboard your build and see if that changes anything. You might also want to source a donor motherboard that is known working and has the latest BIOS version for you to test the hardware on and verify that your current motherboard is at fault.
