Im looking at the MSI B450-A Pro Max Atx motherboard for a Ryzen 5 3600. Will I have to update bios? If I do, will I need an older cpu to update it?

If the box says this then it will work out of the box otherwise it most probably wont.

All MSI MAX,(must say MAX) boards are ryzen 3000 ready.
