I have the amd fx 8320e and a seperate gigabyte ga-78lmt-s2p mobo and i'm not sure if I need to update the bios before I can use the amd fx 8320e cpu...I heard that with the newest amd cpus like the 8320e you might need to update the bios before you can get video on the monitor or you might get a black screen...the motherboard's revision is 5.1 but I do not know if the bios is fm2 or what because when I boot the motherboard up I cannot get a bios screen on the monitor..I attached a speaker that is not a normal motherboard speaker to the positive and negative speaker pin's with the right wire's and i get a quick bass blast out of the speaker similar to a quick beep when booting but that's the only beep or bass beep I get out of the speaker..I also notice with a spare pci network card installed it's orange and green leds are on hopefully i'm not too off topic of cpu but it seems more than one problem might be possible with this build and I need help.

I have a speaker but it's not the usual motherboard speaker and it doe's not let out any other sound except one bass sound or hit like a speaker beep so it's not much help...I will have to try the cpu and cpu fan installed and maybe a jumper on the clr cmos pin's

boot with cpu and cpu fan installed without ram or anything else or boot with cpu and cpu fan installed with a single ram module in one of the ram slots and I do not have a vga to dvi-d or dvi cable for the type of dvi port that is on the ga-78lmt-s2p motherboard I wonder if it's possible the display was defaulted to the type of dvi port in the bios

I don't know if this has been answered or not, but I have this same exact mc and cpu combo. I flashed the latest BIOS before installing and I have no issues at all. Based on Gigabytes compatibility chart, it looked to me that the only way the 8320e would work is with the new BIOS only.
