Do i need to Update my BIOS??? thank you

Hello People! My question is... Do i Really need to update my BIOS if i want to put a better CPU?
I have a HIGOS motherboard.

ive research some of the specs on it and the HP website says that the HIGOS motherboard supports RYZEN 1800X (THE CPU I WANT TO PUT IN)

So even though it says my HIGOS motherboard supports the CPU RYZEN 1800x , do i really need to update the BIOS??? Please help and thank you

Somewhere, there is a list for your motherboard that has which CPUs require which BIOSes. You need to find that list.

It would help to have the exact model of your motherboard so you can find that list.

Perhaps the BIOS you have in there will work....perhaps not....there's no way to know without the list.

For first gen Ryzen, most probably not bout maybe better to do it because there are always some fixes, that's why they update them.
