A aocon62 Prominent Sep 19, 2018 122 1 715 Jan 24, 2019 #1 I just got a rtx 2060, and was wondering if my cpu would be worth upgrading, to a 8700. I was playing BFV and am getting a real bad cpu bottle neck, like 20% gpu usage and 100% cpu usage at 1080p and bad stutter. Is that to be expected too?

stevenjemint Notable Aug 13, 2018 783 4 1,115 Jan 24, 2019 #2 There's not a massive difference between the 2 CPUs https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-8700-vs-Intel-Core-i5-8400/3940vs3939 however newer titles like BV5 will benefit from the extra threads. 1080p is the more CPU intensive resolution so it would have an effect. As you increase the resolution and the frame rate goes down it decreases the workload on the CPU. Upvote 0 Downvote
