Do I need to upgrade my power supply?

I currently have a 2700x CPU and a gtx 970 graphics card, and my PSU is rated at 550W.

Would I need to get a new PSU if I get the rtx 2070 founders edition?

Not if your power supply is a good quality unit. The suggested capacity for the 2070 series cards is much the same as for the GTX 970. Less in fact.
