Here are the specs of my PC:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

CPU-
Intel Pentium E5700 @ 3.00GHz (Wolfdale 45nm Technology)

RAM-
6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 399MHz (CORSAIR 4GB + Kingston 2GB)

Motherboard -
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5G41C-M LX (LGA775)

Graphics -
DELL E2014H (1600x900@60Hz) 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 210

Storage -
931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 ATA Device (SATA)
465GB Seagate ST3500418AS ATA Device (SATA)

Optical Drives-
TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223C ATA Device

Display-
DELL E2014H 20" Flat Panel Monitor

Actually I just upgraded my rig and purchased the NVIDIA GeForce G210 graphics card and the SEAGATE 1 TB Hard Disk.

Now my problem is, the computer is not performing as good as it was earlier. It even crashes and monitor goes blank, at times. But when I remove the graphic card, it runs very well.

Can anyone suggest me anything, like do I need to upgrade my processor. The processor is heating up too much (up to 68 degrees).

Thank You in advanced !!

In my experience, a over heated processor has never effected the visual display of my computer. I have ran a computer before when my cpu fan had stopped working. Typically the computer would just start running very slow and eventually freeze up. Screen would still be on. Have you...

Hi, based off what i am reading here i would say it is possible that your graphics card is faulty, or you might have a driver problem. Did you purchase this gpu new or used? when you installed the drivers did you use a disk or get them off the manufacturer website?

I purchased a new graphics card, and installed the driver from CD. But, then I updated it from the website to the latest version - v340.52
I am able to run games like GTA 4, Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3, quite well with that card, and if I keep playing for quite some time (like 3-4 hrs), the display goes blank suddenly, but not every time.
So, according to me, the card is not faulty, the processor may get overheated somehow.
But, thanks for the reply kccp.

In my experience, a over heated processor has never effected the visual display of my computer. I have ran a computer before when my cpu fan had stopped working. Typically the computer would just start running very slow and eventually freeze up. Screen would still be on. Have you tried downloading any programs like speedfan to monitor temperatures? Maybe after playing for a few hours you gpu is over heating. Who knows it might be the processor as well, if your motherboard supports it. You should be able to monitor these temperatures as well. Have you tried investigating why you think your processor is overheating? Are all the fans in your computer working? Is the heatsync seated properly? Maybe buying a new cpu cooler and some aftermarket thermal paste will ensure it stays cool.

the lga 775 sockets is fairly limited on processor upgrades. But they do exist. Since it is older technology they are still fairly pricey.

Maybe you are right, I have noticed that the thermal paste has worn off my processor. All the fans are working very well, and the GPU is not overheating, which I tested with the software FurMark.
Thanks kccp
