Do I need to upgrade my RAM?

I'm just wondering if 12-16gb of ram is necessary for gaming at this point. Not really sure because I've seen some games like gta V over use ram by accident and stuff. Right now I have one stick of DDR3(8gb)Ram. Is upgrading my ram a good idea?

Do you exceed 8GB in your use?
If so, then yes you should add more.
There is no set number, its a case by case basis.

Not really but a lot of new games recommend 12gb of ram. Im guessing their talking about max settings at 4K..... hahah thanks for the help!

RAM is one of those things that really has no such thing as futureproofing. Once you need it you should upgrade.
