Do I need to worry about OS?

Hey,
So I'm moving my old parts into a new computer build. I'm moving the Hard drive and Processor into a new build. I realize that I need an operating system. If I already have Windows 10 on my old computer do I need to get an operating system?

My old computer didn't have an SSD just a Hard drive.

The Windows 10 that's on your old computer's hard drive cannot be used on your new build.

On your new build you will have to buy & install a fresh copy of Windows.

I had Windows 7 originally and they offered the free upgrade which I used to upgrade to Windows 10

If it's Retail version of W7, install that first and deal with activation on new MB, than you can upgrade to W10 and/or do clean install. IF W7 was/is OEM than chances are slim to none unless you live in Germany or some other country where MS has to give you right to transfer OEM windows to another computer.
