Do I really need an aftermarket cpu cooler or will the stock one do?

Hi all :) Getting a new pc as my old one has gone bust. Someone is building and recommending parts for me.

We have both decided that the processor we will be getting will be the intel i5 4690. It comes with its own stock cooler, however he is recommending I get an aftermarket cooler as he says it will make my cpu last a lot longer.

The aftermarket cooler he is recommending is an: Scythe Big Shuriken 2 SCBSK-2100 for £33.

Ive done some internet research and im wondering whether I really need this cooler for the processor or whether the stock one will suffice.

Is it worth it for £33 or is the money better spent on a better graphics card?

Plus I think the stock cooler sounds great:

Please advise.

Solution
First off, there are cheaper aftermarket coolers out there that do a better job. Second, you don't need a aftermarket cooler as your cpu is locked as thus is not for overclocking.

If you already like the sound of the stock cooler than you are good to go as that's the only other important factor for people who don't need to overclock. Enjoy your new CPU!
