Hello,

I have the following:
R5 3600x cpu
Msi x370 krait mobo
16GB corsair 2666mhz memory
Gtx 1060 6gb
Hp 27in 144mhz freesync monitor

With the price of the RX580 8gb video cards as they are now.. I could essentially swap my gtx 1060 out at very little cost, also I don't know if the free sync will help more? I've read 5-10% gain? Might not be worth it..this is why I'm asking.

Solution
RX580 8gb is basically on par with the 1060 6gb. They trade blows depending on game.
The extra vram on the 580 is appreciated, but highly negated by the 1060s lower power draw and heat output.

Your 1060 should be able to support fresync just as well as a 580 assuming your drivers are updated and using display port. So no difference there.

I would keep your 1060 6gb. Its a solid card and the 580 really isn't a good card to swap to.

Ok! Will do. Thought I would ask.

I'll wait an get a RX5700 or xt later on when I need a real upgrade.
