Question Do I update BIOS for i5-9400F?

Soon I will be getting the i5-9400F cpu, however i wanted to know if i will need to update my BIOS in order to make it compatible. I have the PRIME H310M-A R2.0 motherboard. According to CPU-Z my bios version is 1601. Will I need to update my bios before installing the CPU?

Sorry if something doesn't make sense. I'm not very good at computers.

I just checked in the BIOS and on the information part it also said BIOS version is 1601. Am I looking at the right area?

Then the board is not R2.0, as mentioned in your initial post.

Oh ok, sorry about that. So should I just update it to the latest Bios version?

Yes, try updating to 2602.
