Question Do I want a plexi/acrylic top for my block or pump?

For i9-9900.
I'm leaning towards EK, but any universal waterblock as well. They have plexi/acrylic and all-copper tops. Also options for stand-alone pump tops.

I think I want a clear top, to see any algae or corrosion inside. But has anyone had any trouble with them cracking? Otherwise, would a copper top assist in cooling? I like the look of nickel-plating, but functionality comes first.

copper top doesn't add any cooling, its just looks

i have one with black screen on top ( block is transparent but have black screen on top ) due to which i can't see its inner from top ( came with s360 kit )

no cracking will occur unless you use hammer or alcohol on acrylic top or throw it out hard

Don't use alcohol.

Otherwise, no issues, just be aware that excessive torque or leverage on fittings when installed can cause microscopic cracks. Just don't apply too much force or over-tighten fittings.
