Do ITX motherboards with built in video require APUs?

I'm getting ready to build an ITX/AMD machine that's for development. So it will run SQL Server, Oracle, IIS, and maybe some utilities like Skype, gmail, facebook, winamp, automated backups, etc. So graphics performance is *not* important for this machine.

I was comparing APUs and CPUs. And it seems like I want a CPU because I would rather have more cores, more lanes, etc.

So here's my question: When ITX motherboards have integrated video, do they need an APU to make this work? That is, if I go with a CPU, will the on-board video be disabled? I have 10gb ethernet plans for the one pcie slot. So I'd like to avoid having to put a video card in the machine.

Today's AMD motherboards do not have graphics on board. If you do not use an APU, the ports on the motherboard will not work.

Those motherboards are the same, but all current i series cpu's, to my knowledge, have integrated graphics.
