Do low profile cards require power?

Low profile cards don't have any pin connector requirements so it shouldn't use power from the psu, just the motherboard, right?

+1 - most of the lower end dont, but the higher end cards like the HD6850 will need some oomph and require an external power plug

So, as long as it doesn't require any pin connectors it doesn't require any power from the pus, right?
Also, I thought the 430 was the fastest card without any pin connectors. If not, then which one is the fastest? The 5670?

Most dont require a secondary power connector but ALL require power from the PSU, it just draws power through the PCI-E slot on the motherboard which draws its power from the PSU. The PCI-E slot can provide up to 75W.

All computer components requires power from the PSU. A video card draws power from the PSU through the motherboard. Higher end video cards will also draw power directly from the PSU.

The fastest card that does not require a direct PSU connection is the Radeon HD 6670 which is about 10% more powerful than the HD 5670.

The question is if your PSU has enough power to provide the necessary power the PC after your upgrade.

I think 300W is enough, isn't it? I don't have anything special in that PC. The CPU is a dual-core.
