[SOLVED] Do motherboards affect performance?

This has probably been asked before but I wanted an answer more specific towards my build. I have an ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard and a ryzen 3 2200g. I want to upgrade the processor to a ryzen 7 3700x and was wondering if the motherboard would bottleneck my processor in any way or should I be fine?

I'm assuming you meant 3700X there.
It's only a 65W TDP chip... there shouldn't be any problems in terms of power delivery on your motherboard with it, it's a really power efficient SKU.
Make sure to update your BIOS to the latest version before upgrading.

The impact of mobos on performance is negligible most of the time. As ChumP said, only the top CPUs are affected by the power delivery. One thing that may be a problem when it comes to performance is the type of PCIe but that only matters in very old boards
