Do Mouse Pads With Wrist Rests Get Annoying?

Ik that this is not the best question to ask (a mouse pad is a mouse pad), but I am looking at the Razer Vespula and the Razer Goliathus Medium. For people who have had mouse pads with wrist rests, do you feel they are ($7) better than one without one?

If you think my question is nonsense and that there isn't any difference in these from a $3 mouse pad, then please tell me. I haven't had the chance to try anything more than cheap ones.

wrist rests for some can be more comfortable and can prevent joint pain however this is typically for general use tasks. you could probably use them for gaming however my guess would be that they would get in the way. generally there are those who like such pads and those who do not... i'm not sure what your preferences are.

personally i always use regular mousepads and have for years. you do not need a gaming mouspad to be competitive. i used to use a regular sized thicker black mousepad and now i use an 11x17 pad i picked up at a show since i liked the design. picks in build link in signature. i've played competitively for years though not so much lately and a good 80% of what is said by gamers is false (including: wireless is bad...
For gaming I've always preferred ones without the pad because it felt like it restricted my hand/arm movement a bit, but I've never use a "gaming" grade one. They are more comfortable for general use though.

generally "gaming" mousepads are not worth the money. some of the hard style mousepads will wear the feet off your mouse quicker and the special texture cloth pads are more gimmick than anything. the razer goliathus isnt too extreme in price and being stitched around the outside will mean that your pad will not fray like normal pads and is a decent choice. anything more expensive though i would say is not worth the money and is just pricey because its labeled as gaming.

Alright, thanks for the input! I'll either get the Razer Goliathus or the Steelseries QcK. I'd imagine after a while I'd get sick of the wrist rest. I've never experienced wrist pain from using my computer.
