im rather new to upgrading pcs and i have never ordered a new CPU before i plan on ordering an AMD 8350 from newegg and nowhere in any description does it say it comes with a heatsink im trying to tally up the total cost of everything im going to order and i need to know if im going to need a new heatsink. mine runs my amd 6300 to 56° c while gaming im assuming it will be hotter since its a 125w CPU instead of a 95w. so i just want to know if a new stock heatsink and fan comes with new CPUs.

i want to upgrade to the 8350 because i read that it wont bottleneck with 2 gtx 770s which i plan to have since i already have 1 770. in time i will be buying an aftermarket cooler but for now since i only have a low budget i would rather stick with a stock heatsink.

You are better off getting a cooler now and overclocking your FX 6300. You can hit 4.0ghz relatively easy. Unless the game is using more than 6 threads, I doubt you will see much difference in performance between an FX 8350, which is just a multiplier overclocked FX 8320, and an FX 6300 at the same clock speed.

the 6300 wont bottleneck 2 gtx 770s overclocked? i play assasins creed black flag and i have some preatty intense graphics mods in skyrim i cant even run anything in 1080p with my monitor i plan on getting a new one soon but in assasins creed i often get 30 fps on ultra with 1 770 with my 6300 so your saying just overclock it and it wont bottleneck 2 770s? thats good news will save me some money i have never done overclocking before im sure i can find plenty of usefull information on this website thanks.

You must be running way to many mods or doing something wrong. Even a core 2 E8400 can get decent FPS in Skyrim. Do you have the 2gb or the 4gb 770? Chances are you are running out of v-ram. I would definitely overclock though. Getting an FX 83xx will not improve Skyrim vs overclocking your FX 6300.
Despite an official quad-core CPU recommendation, Skyrim doesn’t effectively utilize more than two cores
Which means FX 83xx will do 0 for you in Skyrim. I haven't seen benchmarks for AC Black Flag.

i do have alot of mods running i am running the 2gb version because i didnt think the 4gb would be neccesary. if you play skyrim try the mod dat grass you will understand whats using it all up lol. to be honest most of the time i get 45-60 fps in skyrim its AC black flag thats running it down to 30 thats why i wanna run SLI. and if the 6300 will run 2 770s without bottlenecking then im not even gonna bother with the 8350 thanks for the advice.

Yes, they do come with it. But if youre gaming you should get after-market fans because they work better with than the stock fans. Plus, you can also overclock it if you want to with the aftermarket fan. :)

ive decided to switch to intel anyway lol i have been asking around and researching. the 8350 will bottleneck with what i plan to do so i decided to go with the i5-4670k no need for more discussion on this subject lol.

Good luck and a good choice and now you'll definitely need a aftermarket cooler because this is k series processor with lot of overclocking potential.

most cpus come with a heatsink and fan, however some i7 wont because it needs liquid cooling. same for fx 9XXX series, they come either just the cpu or with a liquid cooler. the fx 8XXX series usually come with a heatsink and fan, but you should get liquid cooling for those if you plan on using them to their full potential
