Hey guys,

I'm new here and i wanted to ask if the older motherboards get sold with the latest BIOS version?
I heard that some motherboards won't support some CPUs that came out after the motherboard itself released.

In my case, im planning on buying a Ryzen 3 2200G with a Gigabyte - GA-AB350 Gaming motherboard.

CPU/APU: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RkJtt6/amd-ryzen-3-2200g-35ghz-quad-core-processor-yd2200c5fbbox

Motherboard: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WWdFf7/gigabyte-ga-ab350-gaming-atx-am4-motherboard-ga-ab350-gaming

So can i atleast boot up my PC with this and download the BIOS via Gigabyte's site without needing to do it with a different CPU first?

Thanks in advance.

The answer is maybe. You don't know how long the motherboard has been on the shelf and what BIOS revision was current at the time it was boxed up and placed there.

If you don't already have a compatible CPU/mobo combo, due to the BIOS, then the system will not boot at all.

Is there a way for me to check whether it's still in production or not?
