do retail cpus come with thermal paste or would i have to buy my own thermal paste

Intel processors come with thermal pre-applied to the cooler. Not sure about AMD, I think they come with paste to apply yourself.

Retail box CPUs have the thermal paste pre applied to the cooler itself. Though the paste isnt the highest quality, it gets the job done.
