Do routers auto-reconnect after a connection loss?

I'm an absolute newbie when it comes to networking, so bear with me here.

I have a PPPoE connection that requires manual dialling (that I've automated to some extent using a program called Reconnect). The connection sometimes has outages, in which case I have set Reconnect to automatically retry connection until it is re-established.

I plan to buy a WiFi router: the TP-Link TL-WR841N. I've gone through the manual cover-to-cover and have a decent grasp of how to set it up now. What I don't know (and what was not mentioned in the manual) is if the router automatically reconnects when the line is dropped, or if I'll have to dig into configuration each time this happens. It would be an absolute dealbreaker for me if the latter was the case.

Update:
Going through the manual again, I've noticed there is a "Connect automatically" option under WAN Connection mode. Is this what I'm looking for? If so, what will be the average time between retries? It would be a bummer if it takes like several minutes between retries.
