Do SATA HD enclosures work with SATA 300 HD's?

I have the 3.5" 1TB WD10EACS-00ZJB0 external HD that I removed from its original enclosure because it died. The HD still works when directly connect to the motherboard.

I want to buy a new enclosure. When I look for options I see that some enclosures are either SATA, SATA II or SATA III compatable. Apparently my HD is SATA 300 which is SATA II. Will this enclosure below work with my HD??? It only states that it is SATA.

Thanks.

It should work without any problems, because the USB 2 external interface restricts the data transfer rate well below that of SATA 1. If you do have a problem because the drive is SATA II, you can probably add a jumper to the drive to run it in SATA 1 mode. You will lose nothing by doing so as the data transfer rate is limited by USB 2 anyway. See my last post on this thread for details of the solution to the difficulties caused by an E-sata enclosure. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/266055-14-sata-drive-recognised
Western digital SATA II drives usually need a jumper between pins 5 & 7 to run them in SATA 1 mode.
