Question Do Surge Protectors Affect Performance?

Looking to protect my new build with a surge protector, but I'm unsure if my PSU will receive sufficient power and I've heard that surge protectors can impact gigabit internet speed too ... Is it it worth buying one? Thanks in advance.

A surge protector doesn't reduce the required power delivered to your PSU.
A surge protector clamps voltages that can damage your PSU.
....and as far as I know....it doesn't affect internet speed at all.
I would go with the surge protector.
I'm running 3 systems....all have surge protectors.

Thanks, I'll probably buy a Tripp lite. Here's where I'm getting the info about reduced internet speed.

Ah OK......the internet signal goes through the surge suppressor.
I was only referring to a surge suppressor for the AC power.
In the case where the internet signal goes through the surge suppressor....I think that losing internet speed is possible.....although I would think in a well designed unit it would be minimal.
