-Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI
-Asus - ROG STRIX Z390-H GAMING ATX

Going for an overclocked 9900k build and wondering which motherboard would be most recommended for the task. Doesn't have to be one of those two. Wi-Fi is optional built-in, but preferred.

I'm mainly wondering if both of these motherboards will support M.2 NVMe. If you suggest alternative motherboards, please ensure they are compatible with M.2 NVMe drives!

Thanks for your time~

@jay32267

Forgive me if this is a stupid request for clarification but after looking at both those links under the Storage section specifications... I don't see anything there saying "NVMe" at all, which is the problem I'm having. I'm seeing SATA and to my understanding that is much slower speeds than my M.2 NVMe SSD will be capable of performing at, so I really want to be sure and understand how to tell that it's NVMe. Any further information would be appreciated.

I'm afraid of the reviews and installations videos I've seen not detecting the drive or having it perform properly because the board didn't detect NVMe at all or without the aid of a BIOS update/modification of some sort to use it as the primary boot drive.

I'll try and re-post in a less confusing manner..

This video here.

Shows a person that plugged a NVMe drive into a M.2 port and it did not properly work.

How can I tell by looking at a motherboard specifications list, that it supports NVMe?
