Hello guys,
I have a Asus k550jx for almost 3 years...
Just a week ago I opened it up to clean it but I saw something that was strange for me...
As on the top lable of my laptop it says it has 6gb RAM also in the BIOS menu, my computer properties and task manager performance it says I've got 6gb of RAM, ddr3 1600mhz and 2 slots used out of 4...
But when I opened my laptop I only could find two slots with only one 2gb of ram...
I'm working with my laptop alot, as well as gaming and making clips and rendering...it shouldn't work with only 2gb...but I wonder why I can't find it....Do we got hidden ram in laptops?

As the last question,
I want to buy another 4gb of ram...
Is it possible to have all of them?mean 3 slots out of 4(if the above question is yes)
I mean 10gb of ram??
And does it matter which manufacture I'm going to buy from???Is it gonna conflict??

Did you check under the motherboard there are slots under there. As for the RAM upgrade check the max RAM capacity with your particular model there seems to more than one version of it. I have a HP notebook with DDR3 1600MHz RAM from different manufacturers no problem with it.

I think I disassembled every parts but thanks, I'm gonna double check it...maybe I didn't look under that...
And is there any site that I can check max ram compatibility??
Thanks in advance...

I saw a web site that said it comes with 12GB ram, there are other numbers besides the JX. Task manager always says 4 slots. You probably only have two, look at your manual page 94 to see what you have or download Speccy https://filehippo.com/download_speccy/ and it will tell you what you have and the brand and model number. Usually Crucial memory finder will tell how many slots and max ram but they only had a listing for a K550CN not a JX.
