I am using windows 10, 64bit, with Windows Defender inbuilt, that i have never used and dont know if it's any good. I have been using NOD32 AV for past couple of years and i guess it gets things done. but do we really need an Antivirus in our system? I dont download and install themes etc, that i used to, in the times of Windows XP, i dont download unauthenticated softwares, I rarely use my flash drive in other's computer. I do install games from Steam, Epic, Rockstar etc, i guess they are pretty safe. Im pretty sure that even the ISPs must be having some system to filter out viruses before it reaches the broadband users... I have heard many people saying that using an antivirus is of no use now. I would like to know about the views of this community.

Solution
I don't personally use a third party antivirus any more.

I used to but most of the free ones have annoying popups, ads or nags to update nowadays.

If your online habits are sensible (yours appear to be) I'd say windows defender is good enough.
