Do we need interet access to play this ??

Me and my friend decided to play Modern Combat 4 & Call of duty Black Ops Zombies on local wifi (I finally figured out how to create a wifi hotspot using my mobile.. hurray !!! -_- ) Anyways, my question is.. do I need to switch on data connection after he has joined my phone wifi network ? .. which is, do i need internet to play on local wifi .. or can it be played without internet ??

Install connectify software , for windows 7 and above. create hotspots on laptop. Problem solved for lan gaming . But i dont think these games even have an offline multiplayer. they would all beg for internet connection .

No, you don't need data connection for local WifI. And of course why it should need? You or not playing with other players. I played played this game a lot with my brother. And you know what, connecting like the way you mention isn't gonna work. Both devices should be on same network but turning on Hotspot your device won't be able to connect to his phone. What you need to do is to use third phone and connect to it(thats what I do). Or get Connectify (www.connectify.me) if your PC have Win7+ and Wifi. Enable hotspot and connect to it.
