Do x.m.p profiles work best or should I manually configure my ram?

My pc specs are on my profile.

I have 2 x.m.p. profiles I can automatically load on my MB.

Should I manually try to optimize my ram?

If so I have no idea how it works other than where on my MB bios it is located.

Really interested in perfecting my skills!

Activate one of the profiles and leave it as that. You may want to read this to finally see how useless all this ram optimization blah-blah is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAS_latency The only improvement on ram performance in the last ten years was dual channel.
