Do you need a gaming mouse pad for CS GO?

I am using the inno 3d mouse mat that they gave me when buying the graphics card. but its pretty small so is it OK to use it for CS GO?
or should i invest on a g240 instead? are those gimmick that doesn't work or investing on that worth the money? i have another large mouse pad so will THAT work?

Depends on how much You play CS:GO. If You're a hardcore player, You will for sure find a use for both, an excellent mouse, and an excellent mousepad. If You play just for fun, and only sometimes, stay with what You have.

Mousepads come down to preference and quality of your surface.
I have a desk that I built in welding just so I didnt have to spend 200 bucks to get one large enough that I liked. (Cost me 30 bucks for 18 square ft of desk space btw) and given that I have a solid oak surface, with a clear lacquer on it, 3 coats, its surface is so smooth and level I dont need a mousepad.

However, I was using a steelseries starcraft mousepad, because collectors edition.
Now I am using a Hyper-X fury XL Extended edition (Essentially a yoga mat) because kingston came in clutch with my Cloud II purchase, and who can turn down free stuff?

i bought the g240 cloth mat. no big difference but i got it for it's size. i can now put my whole arm onto it and flick it with 400 dpi. try that on a high resolution monitor. that's really fun to do.
i can not even use mats, but my desk is made out of glass. so those "hardcore csgo" (i mean swinging my hand across with 400 dpi just for fun) will scratch it for sure.
i would have gotten a g440, but that cloth mat is just so darn small when folded!
like, you can listen to spotify radio, lock windows and fold the mouse pad and do something else, right?

I use mouse pad for comfort and as a mouse meet protector. My work and home table is made of rough surface so I don't want replace my mouse just because of worn feet.
