[SOLVED] Do you need same size ssd as hdd to transfer

Do u need to get the same memory ssd as your hdd to transfer your stuff even if u havnt used all the memory on the hdd or can I get a smaller ssd just to transfer what Iv used on the hdd

Clone I guess as looking to replace hdd

1) you want to leave 10-20% free space on ssd
2)the ssd have to be at least the size of the total HDD used size.

I have 2 TB left of a 3 TB hdd so guess a 2TB SSD would be fine
