Question Do you need three 8 pin connectors for a 3070 Ti?

Hello,
I found a good deal for a used MSI 3070 Ti Suprim X, but after some research I realized that card has three 8 pin connectors. My PSU is a EVGA 650W GT, with two slots for VGA connectors. Though it did come with one 8pin, and one daisy chained double 8pin connector.
Would plugging these into the three slots on the 3070 Ti be fine? I know that most 3070 Ti cards seem to have only two 8pin connectors anyway.

If it matters, I built the computer in 2020 and all components were new.

Probably not a good match.
3000 series cards can have high momentary power spikes that a 650w psu may not be able to handle.
You could try it, no damage is likely if the power is not sufficient.
More like unexpected failures while gaming.

No. You might be able to undervolt about 0.1V and still maintain boost clocks that it's currently getting. That would only drop the power spike to about 550W if I did my math right. Also undervolting is only in effect if MSI Afterburner or whatever tool is running. If you forget to have it on, you'll end tripping your PSU.

It turns out that the card actually only has two 8pin connectors. I checked the website again.

Some have Dual connectors and some have 3. The maker of the card should be able to tell you.

You can always buy a power supply and sell your old one if it don't work out.
