Do you need wifi to play games on the nvidia sheild tablet?

I was consittering getting an nvidia sheikd tablet after trying out my friends. I was wondering if i were to play games such as gta v, would i be able to play it in a place that i have no wifi, such as on a long flight?

Yes since you need internet connection to use Nvidia Grid. If you talking about Nvidia gamestream, that is only available on your local network provided you have a pc system to support it.
