Now that the Cherry patent for mechanical keyswitches is up, do you all think that mechanical keyboards will be cheaper in the future? Razor has already made their own key switches and they are making them in China (Opposed to Cherry's German manufacturing) so I'm sure other companies will start to make their own Chinese switches, for much cheaper.

Do you think in turn we'll be seeing mechanical keyboards at affordable prices for the average consumer in years to come?

Hopefully. I have more faith in the 2013 black widows ultimate than the new one. I love my mechanical cherry key keyboard, I'm hoping the new and cheaper options are just as reliable!

tbh gaming keyboards in general are really overpriced, whether its mechanical or not you are looking at spending at least over $50 minimum and in my opinion i really dont see why they need to be so overpriced, exceptions include macro keys and monitors. So i highly doubt the price will go down
