Do you think PS4 can handle Watch Dogs at 1080p 60fps?

I honestly think it can since Watch Dogs is a cross generation game and the graphics aren't that great compared to other games like Infamous Second Son and Killzone. Those run at 1080p at 60fps with the exception of Killzone's MP running at a lower resolution than 1080p and SP which runs at 30fps. How does a Radeon 7850 perform in Watch Dogs? If it can run it at 1080p at 60fps then PS4 can run it at 1080p at 60fps, too.

You'll spend a little more but generally yes the games do look worlds better on PC, granted it largely depends on the game itself and if the developers chose to make a great PC version of a multiplatform game. PC exclusive titles generally always look a lot better because it's developed for only PC hardware from the ground up.

Also while i hate being banal, PC's will always outperform consoles, it's just a matter of what the individual needs. PS4 competes only with fairly low end PC's in terms of power, but...
But for $399.99 USD plus tax, can you play games on the PC that look as beautiful as Infamous Second Son? A $400 PC can't do what the PS4 can do. Only if you spend around $750 or so, can you get a PC that outperforms it.

PS4 competes only with fairly low end PC's in terms of power, but the software might be better in your view. This why i have a PS4, it's for all the games i can't get on PC. If i was concerned about power and visuals i wouldn't have bought one and would just spend money on PC upgrades.

You don't buy consoles for power, you buy them for the software.

Watch dogs only looked bad because of the downgrade it received from ubisoft as it was 'unstable' on all platforms. As you can now see, the game looks miles better with the unlocked graphics files for the PC at least.
I'm saying yes, the PS4 can run watch dogs at 1080p and 60 FPS but not consistently.

In terms of visuals, I'm definitely giving the edge to PC. Yes, it costs more but I think it's worth it.
On the other hand, playstation consoles do have some really good exclusives.

I still think for the same price, a PC is worse than a PS4. Sure, if you spend $600 to $1000, PC is going to outperform the PS4. I am planning to buy a gaming PC just for the graphics. But PS4 has exclusives that I like such as Uncharted, The Last of Us, Killzone, Infamous and the list goes on. FFXIII will never make it to PC and I like it next to FFX. FFXV will never make it to PC also. These are games you won't find on PC. I think consoles still have their place for now. Maybe later on, when dedicated hardware is no longer relevant, Sony will just have these hi end PCs in server rooms and we can buy the service from them and stream exclusive games from those servers. I think that's what the future holds.

geuss you were wrong about FFXIII never coming to pc becuase it now is

The whole FF XIII saga (yep all 3 episodes) will be released on PC, I guess if it's successful FFXV might follow it.

PS4 is equivalent in AMD terms a slightly better version of a Radeon HD 7850 and Nvidia terms a GTX 750 Ti. I think it can run it at 1080p at 60 fps at times when there's not much going on in the screen. Since those cards should be able to run it at that resolution and frame rate so I think PS4 can do it, too. The only thing is that it is inconsistent. I think if they waited a year before releasing the next gen consoles things should be better. At least we get true 1080p game consoles. There's nothing wrong with using an APU but they could be beefier if they waited until this year to release it around Christmas. But I guess they are afraid of Wii U having a significant lead over them.

Not a better versoin of the HD 7850 it has the power of the HD 7790 and unless they put all the setting on super low i doubt it would even hit 60 fps without anything happening

I think Xbox One is the equivalent of the HD 7790 and PS4 is the HD 7850. PS4 has optimization so it can rival an HD 7850. Same goes for the Xbox One. If PS4 can run Infamous: SS at 1080p 30 fps without the latest optimizations, it can run Watch Dogs at a higher resolution if development kits and optimization techniques mature. It might not get 1080p 60 fps but at least closer to it than it is now. The game is rushed to market and it is a cross gen game. But I still think these consoles are underpowered. Sony and MS should have waited until end of this year to release 1080p 60fps capable consoles.
