Question Do you use ESET av

I have just downloaded ESET trial to get an idea of how it works before i buy it.

At the end of my first scan their was a list of about 40 folders from all different locations on my pc , they all had the comment on them ..... unable to open ..... why does it say that.

BTW my machine is clean

I don't use any third party AV software. Windows Defender does a decent enough job and I'm mostly vigilant when it comes to mucking around on the internet.

I'm also convinced to avoid third party AV software (at least for day-to-day usage) for the following reasons:

• It may make things less secure: https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/01/antivirus-is-bad/
• They have a motive for you to continue using their software so some things it "flags" may be benign, but look scary. Microsoft has a motivation to make Defender actually work decently since it protects their primary product.

Same here. Win Defender and functioning brain cells are all you need.
