do you wait until the service pack is released to build a new system?

my 4 1/2 year old pc is due for retirement. i'm going to buy windows 8 system builder oem. are there any reasons i should i wait for for the 8.1 retail box? should the price be the same for 8.1? amazon has 8 for $87.buy everything now and build or wait?

Wait, M$ are adding updates to 8.1 before general release, although you will get the free upgrade to 8.1 via the app store.

There is no need to wait. The Windows 8.1 release will be a free update via the Windows Store to anyone running a legit copy of Windows 8. You will be able to get it whether you buy 8 now, or 8.1 in a month or so.
