My motherboard BIOS refuses to recognize my optical drive, hdd, and SSD. I have double checked to make sure that that SSD sata cable is connected to the 6gb/s slot on the motherboard and that the sata power connector and sata cable are secure on all three components. Besides this, the psu and motherboard are working fine. I would also like to add that this is my first time building without prior experience in building computers. Thank you

That PSU comes with three modular SATA power cables. Have you tried all three cables in each modular SATA connector on the PSU's modular connector panel? Try connecting all three modular SATA cables with each going to a different SATA drive.

Just did this and unfortunately no luck 🙁. I'm convinced it might be the PSU cables. If it helps, I may have slightly over tightened the stand offs to my motherboard.

How have you verified that your drives are not being recognized in your bios? have you noted that your SATA is configured for AHCI and not raid? Obviously trying different sata cables and ports, but it would be long odds for three to be bad...If your drives are getting good power, you should be able to hear your HDD humming. (Tip: put the tip of your screwdriver on the HDD, the handle tight to your head..) No hum? Continue....

If you have a DVM you can check your PSU's output by removing the 24 pin connector from the MB, jumpering pins 16 & 17, then testing the various 'rails' using the below link for the pinout. (Personally, I think that it is a mis-configured bios.) Pay particular attention to the +12vdc and +5vdc values.

How do I verify completely that they drives aren't being recognized by the bios? In the bios, there is an option to boot the is from the hdd or the sdd and all I'm getting is the hdd. In addition when I press eject on the optical drive, it does not light up or make the "eject sound". I have confirmed that the SATA is configured in AHCI and have also switched up the sata power connectors on the PSU. I checked my hdd for the hum and all I hear is a constant doooooot....doot...doot, and a low deep hum, but this can be heard when I unplugged the sata power connector from the hdd. I have no idea what a DVM is and a Google search returns with a degree in vetenary medicine. Thank you for the input.

Google is not always your friend...

DVM is also an acronym for digital volt meter... Not knowing this leads me to believe that you need to leave the troubleshooting of the PSU to your local neighborhood PC tech. No disrespect intended, but... 12vdc @ 850 watts can do some thin sheetmetal arc welding.

I'd take the MB, case and PSU (as well as the HDD..) down to your local PC tech, get it verified, then do your dealing with your online supplier.

None taken, will do. Thank you!
