Dock power switch

I have a Dell USB-C docking station WD15. It works correctly with my old Dell laptop. Now I have a new LG Gram laptop and am trying to use the Dell dock with it. Everything seems OK except that the power switch on the Dell dock doesn't turn on the LG laptop. To turn on the LG, I need to open the cover and push the power button inside.

Is wake-from-dock a model-specific protocol or is this a feature that LG does not incorporate in their laptop?

Does LG or someone else make a dock that would support this?

My money's on that the power button only works on Dell laptops.

A quick look on the internet tells me LG doesn't make their own docking stations for laptops, and most of the recommended ones don't have a power button.
