Hi, I am buying a 75" 8k mini LED TV to be used solely as a monitor for browsing, work and watching movies. I do not play games. I was wondering of the most cost effective way to achieve 7680x4320@30Hz resolution via HDMI. I am thinking along the lines of buying a docking station that supports DP at 8k. I can get a DP to HDMI cable that should do the trick. I have a laptop that uses thunderbolt. Does anyone see a problem? Thanks

But why do you want an 8k display for browsing, work and movies? At 75 inch, you would have sit 4 feet or closer to the display to even distinguish a difference between 8k and 4k. Seems unwieldy and pointless to me, so I am trying to understand what your goals are here.
I do a lot of spreadsheet work and having 8k display can give me more screen real-estate and more windows opened at the same time. It was a big leap to 4k and that helped but 8k will be awesome. I sit about 75cm away from my 65" 4k TV and the TV is sitting on my desk. So the new 75" TV will be wall mounted and further away from me - about 90cm. When I watch movies I just lean back on my high-back office chair and enjoy.
