Hi
Apologies if this is facile and previously answered, but I can't find a clear solution anywhere.
I need a new lapto and I like to use a dock quite often.
Hitherto I've been using an old Dell Latitude with the ports on the base, so I'm new to USB docking.
I'M looking at an ASUS UX3405 laptop which has two Thunderbolt ports. Can these be used with an ordinary (non-Thunderbolt) dock, for power/charging, data and a single display (HDMI or DP) or would I need a specifically Thunderbolt dock? Manufacturer's description just says they support power and data...no reference to compatibilities. (There isn't an additional "USB Alt Mode" port.)
Thanks in advance.
