Windows XP has turned my Documents and Setting folder into a file. I would
like to know if there is any way to restore it. I have tried System Restore
and it did not work.

I doubt Windows has changed it, I'd be looking for spyware and/or viruses to
start...

i guess i have same problem.because of an electrical problem my computer
restarted and it made a scan because i didnt close my computer right.and at
scan it said it found an error and turned my documents and settings/my
account folder to a file without asking me and it said scan finished but scan
screen didnt go so i restarted my computer again and i skip scan this
time.when i choose my account it said(i dont remember all)there is an error
and it will open an temporary account and changes wont be saved at this
temporary account.after that account opened i looked at my files at documents
and settings they were gone all files, desktop and temporary internet
files...I have tried system restore but nothing changed.i tried some recover
programs but they coudnt recover (one of them said "files first cluster is
occupied by other files entry")I'm not sure that they are deleted or not
because files were nearly 2gb and at my computer there isnt more space than
300mb.i searched microsoft
errors(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;326688) and
for this error it says your files are saved at documents and settings/old
user account/my folder but at my computer there isnt a file like it.please
,HELP
