I currently have 16GB of ram so i want to upgrade to 32GB but will it make any difference when it comes to gaming?

a lot of people say that the difference is night and day and that with 32 GB you get no stuttering in games or atleast 95% of the stuttering is gone while gaming when you have 32 gb of ram.So is this true what is your experience when upgrading from 16 gb to 32 gb of ram.
Thanks

This is one of the easier things to determine. Open the resource monitor while the game and whatever else you have running and watch the memory tab. You can see the usage, what you really don't want to see are hard faults which means it is swaping the memory to disk.

No what i meant was will 32 gb of ram make the stutter go away i know how to switch to memory tab in task manager while gaming and no game uses more than 10 gb.I've never run out of memory.

So long as you do not have any hard page faults, the amount of ram should not matter.
I have heard of some games now requiring mote than 16gb for good performance.

Most likely, those who found 32gb to be helpful were also running other apps like streaming or discord. such apps can preempt the cpu priority, hurting game performance.

And, upgrading ram does not always work properly.
The plan should be to REPLACE the 16gb with a 32gb or larger kit.

What are full system specs? Is it a desktop? What games? What resolution and frame rate (FPS)?

No, not really. You add RAM if you run out of RAM as said above. Unless your system is using a lot of storage as RAM when it runs out (doubtful).

On laptops where you can share some of the system RAM as VRAM for gaming if the shared part is not enough then adding some RAM might help. Otherwise no real help in terms of omitting stutters.

Run your game, until you experience stutters.
Open Task Manager - Performance/Memory view
make a screenshot and show here.

Generally - if committed value is larger than physical amount of ram, then it's recommended to get more ram.
