Have ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-G Gaming motherboard. Specs state that it supports Displayport 1.2 at 4096x2304 resolution at 60Hz. Will this be able to support the new 49" wide monitors that have maximum resolution of 5120x1440? Pixel count of motherboard is greater then the monitor, but obviously it does not state support up to 5120? Thanks for any help.

This monitor?

Well, DP is out - that monitor uses DP v1.4
And so is HDMI - that monitor uses HDMI 2.0
Your motherboard - DP v1.2 and HDMI v1.4 - isn't compatible with that monitor. You need a discreet gpu to display that monitor's native resolution.
