hello iam just wondering if the 4gb ram cause fps drop in fortnite my specs: processor:i3 3220 ram:4gb gpu:gt 1030 2gb
- CPU: Core i3 2.4 Ghz
- RAM: 4 GB
- VIDEO CARD: Intel HD 4000
- CPU: Core i5 2.8 Ghz
- RAM: 8 GB
- VIDEO CARD: Nvidia GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 equivalent DX11 GPU
Yes it can technically, but your CPU and GPU can also cause this.
You meet minimum requirements:
So 8GB will help, but likely not much, as you fall short of all recommended requirements:
I wouldn't trust that at all. There is no way anyone would be able to directly tell if this is RAM without specifically knowing all of your loads / temps / and swapping the RAM itself and testing.told me that s ram problem

Basically all I'm saying, it could be anything, if some person has just told you off the cuff that it is RAM, take it with a pinch of salt. It could well be attributing, but there is no way they could work that out that easily. You'll want to check your CPU, GPU temps and % usage during the FPS drops. Also checking RAM usage will help identify if it actually is.
I'd suspect you've also got another component potentially limiting you, or background resources that are taking up useful resource whilst you are playing.
Equally remember in fortnite you are also limited by your internet, if your internet speeds drops at intervals, this can also cause dips depending on the nature.
my internet speed is 1mb/sec 😀
I don't know much, but that GPU usage seems a bit weird to me. Most games have the GPU running at high 90's most of the time.i dont run any other background apps except epic games launcher i need fix for this and i dont want to buy ram for nothing so i just wanted to be sure if the ram is the problem i installed msi afterburner and it told me ram usage 3550 is this good or no and gpu temp 50 and 40%usage is this good or no ?

I don't know about Fortnite though. Is it running at 40% all of the time? Or does it change during the FPS drops?
or its internet speed problem ? my internet speed is 1mb/secSo i checked the gpu usage again i saw that when the fps drop the gpu usage become 10% then go to 100% and normally without fps drop the gpu usage 80% so is this normal ? Edit (sorry gpu usage wasnt 40 %)
Your Hard drive causing this increase your RAM. Then it will be fineidk because the game run at 120 fps but sometimes at the landing and in the middle of the game the fps goes to 1 or 10 fps so someone told me that s ram problem so i wanted to get sure if that right
