Does 8xagp card work on 4xagp systems

I have an Intel D845HV MB p4 2.0ghz 256mb and Im think of upgrading to a FX5200 128 graphics card will it work on my system.

What are you upgrading from, 5200 is horrible. And to answer your question simply, yes it will work...it would even work fine on a 2xAGP slot.

Maxtor disgraces the six letters that make Matrox.

Man I agree with Vapor.
Going with a FX5200 is hardly an update from anything.
You can do much better without spending too much $$.

Any card released in the past 3 years should work on that board.

A Radeon 8500le is as cheap or cheaper than the FX5200 and much faster. Forget that the FX5200 is a DirectX9.0 Card, as it is just too whimpy to play any true DX9 game that comes out. Under $60 it is hard to beat a radeon 8500le. Otherwise if you can do $75-$100, get a Ti4200.

Again, what is your current card?
