Solution
You will stay well above 60 FPS in all new games on 1080p, so you dont have to worry about that.
You will have slight bottleneck but it wont be lets call it a bad one, you will get like 120 fps instead 144 or something like that.
If you can OC your CPU it would be even better.

It will work without problem. It will probably bottleneck in some games at 1080p but if you aim to play at higher resolutions like 1440p or 4k with 1080 or 1080 TI that bottleneck should be eliminated, particularly at 4k.

but im going to be playing at 1920x1080 and i know it will bottleneck but as long i can pull frames above 60 i will be happy.

Yeah but why spend the extra cash when you get the same result with a GTX 1060?

Wow, some really bad advice in this thread.

The i7 4770k would not bottleneck in any meaningful way and would work fine with a 1080, 1080 ti, two 1080 ti's in SLI...

With an i7 and a gtx 1080, the bottleneck is actually your 1080p / 60hz monitor.

yes i know its overkill to get that card but its cheap i can get one for around 200 euro so if i go overkill now it will pay off and i dont get as good discount on 1070 or lower.
