does a Asus P8Z77-V PRO support a Samsun mSATA 840EVO 1TB SSD?

We have this board on a fast machine, opened it up to put the mSATA drive in but suspect it is placed under the motherboard. Docs are not readily available and we didn't want to take the workstation apart before knowing there is an mSATA port.

If not supported we need a new motherboard. sigh

I have that board, no it does not support mSATA. It's possible you can find a PCI express adapter to support mSATA though.

Otherwise, I don't know of any Ivy Bridge boards with mSATA offhand, possibly 9 series boards for Haswell/Broadwell (so a new CPU and board)

I'm running a Plextor m6e PCIe SSD (really an m.2 drive per-installed in a PCIe adapter) at the moment
