Does a B350 board need an BIOS update for the Ryzen 5 2600X?

So, I choose to go with the red team for my new build but I am really confused.

My question is do I need to get a old CPU to download the BIOS update for the board or will it work out of the box with the 2600X?

choosing the older board is somehwat iffy.....if it's BIOS is old, it will not even POST, and you are left needing an old CPU just to update the BIOS...

Best to pay $10 more for a B450 board, IMO

I agree with the above.

A lot of the retailers are claiming that the mobo they are selling has been updated to be "ready", and then reviews and quite a few posting here with people having trouble.

Ok, well are all the B450 boards compatible with Ryzen 2000?

All 4xx chipsets are compatible with R 2000 series. They are made just for that.
