Does a bad ac adapter/power supply causes random freezes (Asus x202e)

I just bought a replacement ac adapter for my laptop but ever since ive used it my laptop suddenly has random freezing..

is it the exact same as the Original Manufacturer Equipment (OEM) or a knock off brand? was it not charging? how old is the system, how long using it I mean

I would think not if the battery is good. The battery acts like a UPS. I would look else where for the problem if the battery is good. Too, you can always test without the AC adapter and see if the problem still occurs... assuming the battery is good.
