[SOLVED] Does a broken ground wire(black) present an issue?

While cleaning my ageing rx480 I managed to break the ground wire(black) for the 4 pin fan connector. Is that going to present an issue? I will in the mean time look for a replacement, I just wanted to know what I can expect right now?

Edit: So the fan is running but won't report the RPMs or allow itself to be controlled via Afterburner.

You should see if you can patch it together or solder it together. If the wire wasn't necessary to begin with, it wouldn't have been there.

There isn't enough wire to patch, the fan is barely moving and actually turns off in a game, which is dangerous. Sigh!! what a <Mod Edit> turn of events.

Black is usually common wire, fan shouldn't run at all. Blue is for RPM sensor.
